A redundant water tank with views over Loch Steisebhat.
Scotland’s SVA Property Auctions achieved a clean sweep at its first auction event of 2022 with all 11 lots being sold, and many well in excess of the guide price.
The live-streamed event pulled in considerable interest from across the country with nine out of the 11 lots sold on the day and two being sold prior to auction as a package – a retail investment with newly converted two-bedroom flat above in Glasgow.
A particular highlight of the event was a redundant water tank on the outskirts of Leverburgh on Harris. It may not initially have looked a dream site, but it was the views over Loch Steisebhat and surrounding countryside that captured the imagination of around 20 bidders. The view proved worth a great deal more to many people than the £3,000 – £5,000 guide price and the hammer eventually came down on this 0.13 acre of island hillside at £14,000. Many bidders expressed an interest considering the setting as a permanent caravan or private camping site.
The next auction of the 2022 programme will take place on Wednesday 4th May at 2pm and will be a live streamed event.
