Chestertons raised £3,000 at its annual Charity Golf Day in support of St Mungo’s.
40 players, including Chestertons’ staff, clients and suppliers, attended Malden Golf Club in New Malden to take part and help beat last year’s total of £2,500. Competitions were held for the highest team score, highest individual score, longest drive and nearest the pin.
The Charity Golf Day is one in a series of events to raise £25,000 for St Mungo’s. Other fundraisers include bake sales, quiz evenings, bowling competitions and wine tastings. Chestertons also encourages its staff to volunteer to accompany the charity’s rough sleeper outreach team, enabling them to meet the individuals who rely on such charities.
Giles Milner, Marketing Director for Chestertons and Chairman of Chestertons Charity Champions, said, “The golf day was a great success, but it also forms part of our wider ‘Charity Champions’ initiative. We want to be hands -on, encouraging staff to think about ways they can make a difference in the community.”
