Public perception of Purplebricks brand sags as Savills soars

Savills has been awarded Business Superbrands status for the 16th year running unlike its purple hybrid rival, latest list reveals.

Savills has been awarded Business Superbrands status for the 16th year running.

The latest 2022/23 UK list sees the global business rated top in the real estate and advisers category.

Savills has grown from being a family firm of chartered surveyors into an international property services group with more than 700 offices and associates in 70 countries throughout its 167-year history.

The rankings, which looked at commercial and consumer agencies, showed how Purplebricks has fallen in public perception as a leading household name.

SavillsThe hybrid agency has plummeted to 460th place just three years after being declared one of the fastest growing companies in the UK.

The Superbrands listings are compiled annually with 3200 brands across 158 categories assessed for quality, reliability, and distinction – the three factors that define a true Superbrand.

Other estate agents and property businesses achieving Superbrands status included Knight Frank, BNP Paribas Real Estate, JLL, Lambert Smith Hampton, Carter Jonas along with listing agencies Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket.

Brands are voted for by a nationally representative sample of 2,500 UK business professionals and 2,500 adults and ratified by independent panels of business experts.

Unlike many industry awards, brands do not pay or apply to be considered.
