A London estate agency known for its cheeky adverts has put a positive spin on the sector’s woes with a witty tweet.

Patrick Littlemore, chief executive of estate agency Marsh & Parsons, tweeted a mock-up advert of a house in Camden Street in Camden Town, with ‘Invaluable’ flashed across the photo in place of a price tag.

Its tongue-in-cheek details make a serious point: ‘Your home has never meant so much. And we urge you to stay there (it’s not very often you hear that from an estate agent). Make the most of every square metre. Look at it in new ways. Because it’s never been as important to you, as it is right now. Stay safe. Stay home.’

Marsh & Parsons has form on the advertising front. Last month, it was forced to pull a tube advert after an uproar on social media among those who suffer from alopecia.

It began trending for all the wrong reasons after alopecia sufferers criticised its creative thrust; the ad showed the back of a man’s head with a visible bald patch in part covered by a comb-over. Written in large text at the top it said: ‘An important central skylight creates a bright and airy living space’.

A less controversial but witty ad released soon after the General Election by the estate agency featured a picture of Theresa May with the strapline ‘Semi-detached, awaiting planning permission’.
