Yet another traditional estate agent has decided to take on the high street digitally by launching an online estate agency.

Sian Beech, from Werrington in North Staffordshire, has launched Feeney Estate Agents after a decade in the industry working at Reeds Rains in Tunstall, where she’s been both branch manager and negotiator.

The 31-year-old (pictured, above) decided to go it alone after buying her first property. “For the first time I was in the sellers’ shoes,” she explains. “After completing the process, I was able to really empathise with how tough and stressful the process can be. I did everything myself in the selling process, and I just thought, ‘I could do this for everyone else too’.”

Sian already has five houses on her books and has just sold her first property, subject to completion. She charges a fixed selling fee of £995 on a no-sale, no-fee basis and is also committed to giving back to her local community; £50 from every completion will go to the vendor’s chosen charity, with the donation made in their name.

Social media

She’s keen to promote the new online estate agency brand and is taking advantage of all the social media platforms. Says Sian: “Social media is so important these days, and I have really tried to optimise that – I’m even on TikTok. I think that people like to know who they’re buying into and it’s important to show your face and let people get to know you.”

Sian promises that she’ll be working differently to big name brands, offering a more personal service. “I’m not a nine to five, I’m not going to log off and you can’t get hold of me,” adds Sian. “I’m really committed to my clients. I just want to make the whole process as stress-free as I possibly can.”

  1. Good luck to Sian, the tech enabled agency model with bespoke personal service is a winning formula, if tech is levraged to embrace the UX of her clients. Good to see that TikTok alsp features in the toolkit that Sian is utilising, because as I was quoted recently in The Times, ‘“I encourage all estate agents to join TikTok,” says the Proptech-PR founder Andrew Stanton. “Because if the younger generation use it as they grow then agents need to be in that space. If you’re not in that space, you will die.”
Getting a personal brand out there is extremely important and certain social platforms are great at that, others are great for showing inventory, a clever mix of both can get new clients at very low cost base.
