The ARLA Propertymark Conference & Exhibition due to take place on 24 March has been postponed until 2 September because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

ARLA said the move had been made after careful monitoring of the development of COVID-19 both in the UK and around the world.

“This has been a difficult decision to make but we are expecting over 1,000 attendees for our upcoming conference and therefore it is vital that we take appropriate steps to prioritise their health and safety,” said a spokesman.

“A huge amount of work goes into preparing for conference from our contributors, sponsors, exhibitors, suppliers and staff; we would like to extend our thanks to all of them and look forward to collaborating with them on our new date.

“We will keep people updated as we progress towards our new conference date of 2 September 2020.”

All existing conference registrations will be automatically transferred to the new conference date.

ARLA said that anyone not able to attend on the new date would be able to follow the conference via a video stream.

“We always have HD quality cameras capturing the day. This year we will give delegates who are not able to attend in person and have booked prior to 11 March, the opportunity to access via a live stream,” said the spokesman.

ARLA said it was confident the rescheduled Propertymark Conference and Exhibition on 2 September at London’s Excel would remain a vital forum for attendees to get up to date on a host of topical issues, keep abreast of changing legislation and network with colleagues in the industry.

A roundtable discussion will look at the changes to Section 21.

“As we approach regulation, recruitment and retention are something business owners are keen to understand and implement – there will be an examination on how agents can achieve this with ample opportunity for questions,” said the spokesman.
