The increasing importance of financial services to estate agency giant Belvoir has been marked by the elevation of Michell Brook to its board.

Brook joined the franchised agency group in 2017 when it bought her company Brook Financial Services for £2 million.

She came with a long career in the mortgages and insurance sector including a long stint as a Regional Sales Director for Mortgage Advice Bureau until leaving to set up Brook Financial Services Ltd in 2010.

Since arriving at Belvoir, Brook has been MD of Brook Financial Services within the Belvoir Group.

Fallowell retiring

Belvoir has also announced that Mark Newton (pictured), 66, founder of Newton Fallowell Limited and Executive Director of the Belvoir Group, is retiring and will become a Non-Executive Director of the Group.

He founded the agency in 1999 and grew it into one of the Midlands best-known brands but in 2019 stepped aside as its CEO.

“On behalf of the whole Board, I would like to thank Mark Newton for his contribution to the strategic growth of the Group over the past six years,” says Gonsalves.

“Many of our recent corporate acquisitions have stemmed from Mark’s strong relationships within the sector.

“I am delighted that Mark has decided to remain with Belvoir as a Non-Executive Director and that we will continue to benefit from his considerable expertise both in estate agency and financial services.”
