He said, “To say I was very pleasantly surprised to win the award is a huge understatement but it is enormously satisfying to see my hard work, and support of the team at Centrick, recognised in this way.

“Birmingham is a very close-knit business community. Everyone is keen to see other people succeed in what is a great place to do business. There are so many talented people who are very, very generous with their support.

“So just to be nominated was a complete surprise. The category was very strong and to be in that kind of company was a tremendous boost personally. I’d like to think the award is an endorsement of how I go about conducting business and is testament to the strength of my network and our innovative commercial proposition.”

Centrick chairman James Ackill added, “Enormous congratulations to Alex from everyone at Centrick on winning the ‘Man of the Year’ award. To come out on top in a business community that boasts so many fantastic performers speaks volumes.”

Some of the leading entrepreneurs from across the region were crowned at the event at the Park Regis Hotel. It was attended by over 300 leading business personalities gathered to celebrate the achievements of the city’s entrepreneurs.

Hosted by Heart Radio broadcaster and founding partner of HDY Agency, Ed James, the event celebrates the finest businesses, the established and up-and-coming entrepreneurs and the men and women who make the most valuable contribution to the growth of the Birmingham economy.
