He became a familiar face on television while anchoring the BBC&#8217;s coverage of the 2008 global financial crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BBC Business Editor: He was appointed to this flagship role in 2016, succeeding Kamal Ahmed.
