EXCLUSIVE: Property search app begins national expansion

Movestreets has been in launch phase in London and Manchester but now its CEO has big plans to go into more regions and cities.

Property search app Movestreets says its initial launch phase is now over and that a new team including a COO has been recruited to begin rolling it out more aggressively across the UK.

Founder Adam Kamani (pictured), who hails from a successful online fashion background, says he now has 700 estate agency branches in London and Manchester using the app listing 50,000 properties.

He is currently offering Movestreets for free for 12 months to agents. The future pricing model is yet to be announced but Kamani is keen to keep the price below £100 a month and further announcements will be made in due course.

“Our long-term aim is to generate revenue through referrals, partnerships, charging for valuation leads and advertising,” he tells The Negotiator.

Kamani says his app is different because, unlike other property portals which have huge back ends, the Movestreets app is simple, easy to use and fun but includes a dashboard for agents to use.

Tinder

He compares Movestreets to the Tinder dating app, not just because it features a similar ‘swipe to like’ screen but because Match.com, like Rightmove, used to be the predominant platform for its sector with a big back end before Tinder came along and turned that on its head via an app.

Kamani says he has plans for a ‘massive roadmap’ to further develop the app this year, and that he’s been talking to agents on how to improve it.

Agents have been in touch from all over the UK and even overseas, but Kamani’s new sales team will be focussing on big cities including Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Birmingham as well as the South of England.

Recent features added to the app include an ‘instant book’ button for viewings integrated with agents’ diaries, while a future feature will include the ability to bid on rental properties via the app.
