Family home for £15,000 anyone?

The décor may need updating, but this family home in Derbyshire was always likely to create competitive bidding at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ online sale. Why? The three-bedroom semi-detached at 48 The Green, in Hasland, Chesterfield had a guide price of just £15,000+ at the auction held on Wednesday 9th December.

The low price came despite the vacant property standing well back from the road with sizeable front and back gardens, gas central heating and UPVC double glazing. Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “It may well need a little sprucing up, but what a tremendous opportunity for either a family with DIY skills or a landlord wanting to extend their portfolio.”

The house went under the final hammer for a much more realistic £125,000, but the giveaway guide price certainly fulfilled its purpose of drawing attention to the last property auction which saw 158 lots sold for £17.5m.
