SDL Property Auctions helped to secure the sale of all kinds of family homes in its May event. Everything from small-scale renovation projects to gothic Victorian villas were sold, raising over £16m in the process.

One of the most anticipated lots on the day was a Grade II listed property in a prominent location in Derby. Currently boasting 12 bedrooms, with ample space to increase this with the necessary consents in place, the property went under the hammer for £595,000+ and sold for £654,000.

Also in Derbyshire, a traditional four-bedroom detached house within yards of a local junior school and requiring some improvement, sold for £301,000 off of its guide price of £205,000+.

In partnership with Wheatcroft and Lloyd, Minshull United Reform Church, a Grade-II listed chapel, also attracted a great deal of interest on auction day, selling for £120,000 off of a guide price of £50,000+ plus fees. With the necessary contains obtained, this has the potential to become a stunning church-conversion property. Requiring just finishing touches, The Cottage in Lincolnshire, received 25 bids online in the space of just a couple of hours, selling for £182,000 after being offered at a guide price of £140,000+.
