Estate agents from the Fine & Country Lincolnshire and Grantham office braved the cold and spent the night sleeping rough at the YMCA Lincolnshire Sleep Easy on the 6th March.
The team represented the Fine & Country Foundation, taking part in the annual sleep out held at Lincoln’s Cathedral to raise awareness and help provide funding to YMCA Lincolnshire, which provides assistance to those who require emergency accommodation and housing support, amongst other crucial services.
There are many people who have no idea where they will lay their head each night.
The Fine & Country Foundation, established in 2014, helps to combat homelessness through raising money for charity organisations in the UK and internationally and it has raised over £450,000 through the efforts of the network and offices such as Fine & Country Lincolnshire and Grantham, whose Director, Rebecca Bouwer, said, “There are many people who have no idea where they will lay their head each night. This must be a terrifying experience, even worse in the cold and wet months, especially during the recent storms,” she says. “Sleep outs are tough, cold, uncomfortable and exhausting. While they do not come close to replicating what it’s like to be homeless, they are a way of helping people understand some of the issues and they raise awareness in the community.
