An estate agency in Hertfordshire is selling off two of the most desirable car numbers plates in the industry after the company closed its company car scheme.
Bishops Stortford firm Eurolet directors Mark Vincent and Mark Downing are offering T2 LET and V41LUES (pictured) for sale at £3,250 for the pair.
They have owned them nearly 20 years and the plates, along with an already snapped-up V41UER number plate
“For taxation and accounting reasons we have switched to a system of staff using their own vehicles and being paid a mileage allowance, so our property-related numbers plates have become surplus to requirements,” Downing tells The Negotiator.
“Also, aAs part of our post lockdown business review and Covid clear out, we are reviewing our expenditure and disposing of unused assets hence the property related number plate sale.”
The plates are nearly as old as the company, which was started up by Downing and Vincent some 30 years ago originally as Eurolet Property Management in Stansted, before moving to its current location in central Bishops Stortford.
They originally rented the branch but later bought the property and re-developed it, later opening a second branch in Cambridge, a business they have since sold.
“When we first opened during the 1990s in this area there were only three letting agencies but now there are 20,” says Downing.
“Lockdown has given an opportunity to increase our market share while other agents sat in the sun on furlough with phones on divert!
