A leading London estate agent who recently sold his 13-year-old business to the Leaders Romans Group (LRG) is using the money to expand his other agency, a Fine & Country (F&C) franchise.
Ben Madden (far right, main pic), whose previous core business was Thorgills based in Brentford buy who had also been operating the West London Fine & Country franchise for the past three years, says he’s been investing in this operation ahead of what he expects to be a busy 2022.
His deal to sell Thorgills, which has now been subsumed into the 13-branch Gibbs Gillespie branch network, saw several of its staff transfer to the F&C operation including its managing director Daniel Madden (far left, main pic) – no relation – who is now a business partner in the F&C operation.
Gibbs Gillespie itself was bought by LRG in March this year.
“During my first three years during which I operated under the Fine & Country brand I have been amazed at the doors the brand has opened, and conversations it has allowed us to have,” says Ben Madden.
“The quality of the brand’s proposition and the growth we’ve experienced lead me to believe that we have found a winning partnership.”
“Every market comes with its challenges. London hasn’t seen the same buoyancy as some more rural areas over the last 18 months.
“But activity levels are good and whilst stock will no doubt be an issue for many of us next year, I’m confident that the Fine & Country offering, mixed with right work ethic will see some great results in 2022.”
