Countrywide brand John D Wood & Co has moved into posh new headquarters in, naturally, Belgravia as the firm marks its 150th year of trading.
The firm hasn’t wandered too far (just 1.2 miles) from its original HQ. John D Wood & Co was established 150 years ago by John Daniel Wood, who opened the doors to their first office at No. 6 Mount Street, Mayfair in 1872.
As well as a new HQ (pictured), the agency also recently upgraded its Chiswick office, moving to a larger, more prominently-located site.
The firm has 26 branches across London and the Home counties including in Notting Hill, the King’s Road and Kensington.
Over the past three years, under the leadership of Managing Director, Polly Ogden Duffy, John D Wood & Co. has opened four new offices.
The expansion follows strong 2021 trading results which revealed that the company had delivered 26% higher profits compared to the previous year as well as property sales transactions up by 55% and new lettings tenancies up by 10% year on year.
Ogden Duffy (pictured) says: “I am delighted we have found our new home on one of the most prestigious squares in London.
“Our location is in the heart of our office network, conveniently positioned alongside several foreign embassies, of which we work with daily relocating diplomats to the UK through our Corporate & Relocation Services team.
“John D Wood & Co has grown significantly in the last three years, and the move to Belgrave Square is a further commitment to our network and growth plans for the future.”
