Knight Knox has completed a six month mentoring initiative with The Prince’s Trust, as part of a four year partnership.
Mosaic, delivered by The Prince’s Trust, aims to inspire young people to realise their talents and achieve their potential. 82 per cent of its beneficiaries are from 20 per cent of the most deprived areas of the UK.
Knight Knox sent two teams into local schools, Chorlton High School and Moorside High School in Swinton.
The mentoring scheme aims to bridge the gap between aspirations and attainment by using inspirational role models from the community who work to lift students’ confidence and communication skills, to boost their long-term prospects. Samantha Edwards at Knight Knox, said, “We were delighted to work with the children at such a crucial time in their lives. Their next years will be packed with decisions which will impact the rest of their lives, so we hope we have helped give them the skills to make the best choices.”
Andrew Connaughton, Head of Year 10 at Moorside, added, “The pupils had a fantastic experience with The Prince’s Trust programme. The tasks set by Knight Knox developed their self-esteem and aspirations and the trip to Knight Knox gave the students a fabulous insight to how a company like Knight Knox operates on a daily basis.”
