The 10th Mallorca 312km cycle ride took place on 27th April 2019 with a massive 8000 riders at the startline. Not everyone completes this mammoth task with around 1000 riders finishing the ride.

This glorious Spanish island plays host to some of cycling’s most challenging ascends in the World with over 5000 metres of climbs within the Tramontana Mountains to conquer within time-restricted zones. Simon Caird, proprietor of The Cairds Estate Agents in Epsom and Ashtead, became aware of the ‘312’ during a brief three day cycle trip last April to Mallorca. It gave him the inspiration to take up the challenge for a great charity – The Royal Marsden, cancer charity. The Royal Marsden cared for his late father in the 1970s.

The specialist hospital hosts an amazing group of individuals who make a huge difference to people’s lives.

Simon completed the 312km challenge, finishing within the top 10 per cent of riders, with 12 hours on the saddle raising £1 for every metre ascended on the day, having prepared for five months with focused professional training.
