One of the larger Martin & Co franchises has changed hands and now has plans to double the size of its property portfolio.

The business, which is based in Shrewsbury but covers Telford and the surrounding countryside, has also moved into new premises.

It has been bought by Andrew Rowson (pictured, above), who with business partner Anwar Ali has acquired the franchise off Simon Collyer, who has operated the business for the past 11 years.

They have taken on Lindsey Medley (pictured above, left) as a business partner, who worked for Martin & Co prior to the acquisition and who will also run the relocated office.

The trio have also appointed Jodie Hillage (above, right) to run its property management arm, who moves over from local firm Monks, and plan to expand the firm’s property portfolio from 150 to 300 units in the coming years, including an additional branch in Telford.

“We will also explore opportunities to acquire other letting agents in order to grow the business,” says Rowson.

“We are looking forward to working with property owners and landlords across the region and providing a friendly, efficient and professional service.”

Shrewsbury, Telford and the surround area is a potentially lucrative place to expand an estate agency – it is due to see a huge expansion in its property market as some 45,000 new homes are planned for the ‘Black Country Garden City’ regeneration project on brownfield sites across the the region as part of the government’s newbuild push.
