An estate agency team in the NE of England has moved to larger premises, saying it needs more room for its growing team of staff after an ‘incredibly busy’ 19 months following the re-opening of the housing market in May last year.
Venture Properties, which was established by former Reed Rains employee Carl Jenkins and co-partner Michael O’Connor in 2008, and has grown to operate five branches.
These include its estate agency head office in Darlington but also branches in Crook, Chester-le-Street, Cockerton and Durham.
But it’s the company’s Crook office headed up by director Julie Garthwaite (main pic, fifth from left), who is also a former Reed Rains employee, which has outgrown its original premises.
Venture Properties has spent £150,000 acquiring and fitting out the new branch in South Street for its nine-strong all-female team, who have already moved from their old office on The Royal Corner.
“It’s so much more welcoming than the old office, for both clients and staff, and we love all the extra space,” says Garthwaite.
“We’ve refurbished it and tried to make a modern twist whilst keeping some of the original features of the building.
“Like any other business, it was unnerving going into the first lockdown as no one was sure what the future held.
“We were fortunate that when we opened our doors following the first lockdown, we saw a dramatic increase across all areas of the business, particularly when it came to new landlords coming into the market.”
