New Principal for Tamlyns

Jemima Bennett imageJemima Bennett is the new Principal and Director at the Bridgwater based firm Tamlyns, Chartered Surveyors, Valuers & Auctioneers.

Jemima joined Tamlyns in 2009 as a Graduate Rural Surveyor with a degree in Rural Enterprise & Land Management. After becoming a fully qualified member of the RICS in 2011, she worked in the Survey and Valuations department before becoming Department Principal in 2014. She specialises in professional valuations and RICS HomeBuyer surveys, predominantly for residential property, and will now provide support, governance and direction in all aspects of the business.

Also stepping up is James Venton Bsc (Hons.), who becomes Assistant Principal as well as continuing to lead the Architectural Services department. James joined Tamlyns in 2002 and holds a degree in Building Surveying, as well as a National Diploma in Construction.

Jemima says, “This year marks 140 years since the conception of Tamlyns and I’m delighted, eight years after joining as a graduate, to be given the opportunity to lead the team. My aim is to continue developing the business whilst upholding the traditional values that my predecessors, Leslie Sellick and Ian Walker, have instilled so admirably. The business is in a fantastic position, continuing to grow year on year, and with the support and expertise of James, and a strong team behind me, I am excited for the future of Tamlyns.”

Michael Martin, Chairman, says, “The appointment of Jemima marks a new chapter in the honourable history of Tamlyns, and is a just reward for her and James. It recognises their increasing influence in the business in recent years and I am confident that under their leadership the business will go from strength to strength, respecting the firm’s traditions.”
