Estate agent launches Nested branch to ‘be my own boss’
Corby based agent Rebecca Yates says her years on corporate and also working recently for Ewemove, persuaded her that being her own boss was the only way forward.

An estate agent who left the traditional estate agency world several years ago has moved to her second hybrid job at Nested but doesn’t regret her decision to leave the ‘inflexible’ and ‘archaic’ high street model behind.
35-year-old Rebecca Yates (main pic) has joined hybrid agency Nested after several years working for rival Ewemove after saying she became unhappy with working in traditional estate agency after returning from maternity.
Yates had several different roles and worked in both corporate and independent estate agents since she first moved into the property sector some ten years 10 ago.
Her first job was as a viewing assistant for a corporate estate agency and she then worked her way up. She says however that hybrid estate agents were “always a niggle in the back of my mind”, she tells Lincs Online.
Something flexible
Yates finally made the move initially with Ewemove and now Nested because she was “looking for something flexible, something that gave me the income I needed to support my family, but also work around my girls,” she says.
Of the future, she adds: “My girls are so excited for me, so it’s nice for them to be proud of mum.”
Nested is a hybrid estate agency that is composed of around 1,000 self-employed agents in areas across the country using Nested’s online platform. Its founders Matt Robinson, Phil Cowans and James Turford were seeking a ‘modern’ alternative to traditional estate agencies.
Formed in 2013, EweMove is one of the UK’s first hybrid agents. Unlike Nested, it is run on a franchise basis, of which there are over 190. Ewemove is owned by The Property Franchise Group (TPFG), whose stable includes traditional high street agents Hunters and Martin & Co.
