Agents to elect industry representative to Boomin board

Soon-to-launch platform says it wants industry voice at a senior level, and also welcomes 'negative or positive reviews' on AllAgents.

Boomin has revealed that it is to enable its ‘founder agents’ to elect an industry representative to its main board of directors who will be paid a £25,000 stipend plus expenses.

The soon-to-launch portal says having an agent representative on its board is a first for the industry and proof that it wants to take a new direction compared to its rivals Zoopla, OTM and Rightmove.

Boomin is also creating a Business Development Board that will include a number of agents and experts in different fields to ‘review and formulate the published ambitions of the company’.

Nominations for the main board paid role opened yesterday and close on New Year’s Eve, and are open to employees or directors of founder agents.

The 12 agents with the highest number of votes will be put forward for a one-vote per founder agent election, which will be held every 18 months to elect a new industry representative.

Negative reviews

Boomin has also been busy this morning responding to a challenge by estate agency and industry supplier reviews website AllAgents which has challenged the fledgling portal to allow negative reviews in a re-run of the spat between the reviews site and Purplebricks.

“We welcome open feedback, positive or negative, that will help us to continuously evolve and deliver a transformational experience for agents and customers.”
