Big estage agency snaps another local rival for undisclosed sum
Wards has acquired off-the-high street property management and lettings rival in Whitstable, run by two women.
Kent agency Wards has bought 13-year-old local rival Kite Homes, a lettings and property management firm in Whitstable, for an undisclosed sum.
This is the second acquisition in quick succession for Wards, which recently celebrated its centenary, and is a relatively easy way for it to acquire landlords and grow its letting book.
Both companies have been working closely to ensure a seamless transition for their customers and Kite’s brand and team will be maintained but its offices, which were in an industrial estate, have been closed and operations transferred to Wards local branch (pictured).
Kite’s founding directors Karen McCabe and Karen Ludgate are to retire, the Neg has been told.
Kite and Wards have been working closely together to ensure a smooth transition for customers and with the long-standing reputation of Kite and Wards, we are excited for what the future is going to bring.
Second acquisition
This is the second acquisition for Wards and Arun Lettings over the past 12 months, it says “signalling the desire to expand even further”.
The Managing Director of Operations, Jason Bunning, said “From the beginning of Kite Homes many years ago, they have always been about top tier customer service and have built up a great reputation within the Whitstable area, so with a very similar outlook, this really is a match made in heaven.
“Kite’s customers will also benefit from the additional services Wards are able to offer, particularly our Landlord and Tenant Portal, which helps organise and streamline everything for our customers.
“Linda Edwards, our Lettings Branch Partner, is excited to help with this expansion of the business and meet the Kite customers, having worked for the company for over 15 years, with all that experience that brings”.
