Estate agent to ‘transform how people move home’ with new platform
Ross McKenzie, who has held senior positions at big-name agencies including Countrywide, says Open Moove solves the deep-rooted inefficiencies in the property market.
An estate agent with senior experience at several big-name firms has launched a home move platform that he says addresses the ‘deep-rooted inefficiencies in the UK’s £8 trillion property market’.
The business, which is due to launch officially next week at its Cardiff HQ, is the brainchild of Ross McKenzie (main image) who has worked for Purplebricks, Countrywide, and Keller Williams, along with his co-founder Cai Gwinnutt.
Open Moove is hoping to solve what many tech outfits have tried to untangle before not necessarily with great success – namely ‘transforming how people buy and sell homes’.
Its platform uses its AI-powered accountability system to track home moving milestones and automatically updates all parties, a secure ‘lifetime document’ marketplace, and a chat functionality that revolutionises how property professionals and home movers interact.
“Having spent 12 years in the property industry, including director-level positions, I’ve seen firsthand how broken the current process is,” said McKenzie, who is the company’s CEO.
Fundamental shift
“After building my own estate agency and mortgage brokerage, it became clear that the industry needs a fundamental shift in how property transactions are managed. Our platform represents that change.”
Gwinnutt (pictured) who is the CTO of Open Moove, adds: “We’ve built this platform from the ground up with scalability and innovation at its core.
“Drawing from over 20 years of experience working with startups across FinTech, MedTech, AI, and Cyber sectors, we’ve created a solution that combines cutting-edge technology with practical, user-focused features.
“My experience working with organisations like Google, British Business Bank, and Barclays Eagle Labs has helped us design a platform that’s both innovative and commercially viable.”
The platform has attracted 200 property professionals to its waiting list, including estate agents, conveyancers, and mortgage brokers.
