‘Homemovers hate paperwork and want to do it all by app’
More than 80% of those moving home find it stressful and the majority would like to be able to do it on their mobile phone, says tech firm.
Homemovers are desperate for easier paperwork and convenient communication with eight out of 10 crying out for a mobile app or online platform to make their moving journey easier, research from Street.co.uk reveals.
Its latest survey showed that 81.2% of people find moving house stressful overall and a whopping 94% said they would find an app or online account useful when buying or selling their property.

Eight out of 10 (80%) of people also said they were either likely, or very likely, to instruct an agent if they offered a mobile app or online platform.
Heather Staff, co-founder at Street.co.uk, says: “With paperwork, lack of updates, dealing with third parties and arranging viewings cited as the most common frustrations when moving, it’s no surprise that so many people want an easy, convenient and accessible digital location to access all their information and track the progress of their sale or purchase.
“We have apps on our phones for almost every other part of our lives – banking, socialising, working – so why not have one for moving house, too?
“At Street, we are tackling these issues with the introduction of our vendor app, which automates communications about viewings, offers and appointment confirmations.”
BRANDED
And Staff adds: “The app can be fully branded to match each agent, ensuring users receive a slick, on-brand experience.
“Interestingly, our research shows that it’s not just the younger generation who are interested in an app, as almost 85% of those surveyed over the age of 55 said they would also find one useful.”
