Keller Williams UK officially wound up as latest development hits agency
The licence holder of Keller Williams in the UK has been liquidated after investors voted for a voluntary winding up.
Keller Williams UK has been officially liquidated, it has emerged, in the latest development affecting the beleaguered agency.
The news comes as the future of Keller Williams in the UK remains uncertain, after KW Worldwide announced it will take over the licence.
Wound up
The UK master licence holder was Grifettey Limited, which traded as Keller Williams UK, but it was wound up after a meeting of investors agreed to voluntary liquidation.
Earlier this month, KW Worldwide released a statement saying that an agreement has been reached between it and the current master licence owners “whereby KW Worldwide will immediately take ownership of the Master Licence”.
“This is simply a change to the relationship between the six UK Market Centres and Keller Williams – meaning that all KWUK Licences are now in a direct relationship with KW Worldwide,” it said.
Quit
Last week, it also emerged that KW UK CEO Mark Readings quit as a director of his own KW franchise.
Readings’ position as director of MC Plus, which trades as KW Plus in Essex, was terminated.
He was appointed CEO last August, after joining KWUK in 2019. He was made Regional Director in July 2022 following his successes as both an Operating Principal at the KW Plus Market Centre and as Chief Technology Officer.
It was announced at the same time last year that CEO Ben Taylor was to become Executive Chairman.
A spokesperson for KW Worldwide said Grifettey Ltd is no longer affiliated to KW.
