‘Virtual viewings without having to revisit a property during lockdown’

Reapit is offering its customers FocalAgent's virtual viewings service that uses existing property photos to enable agents to offer 'accompanied viewings'.

The UK’s leading property software platform Reapit has today begun offering free-to-use virtual viewings tech to its member agents, it has been announced.

Called Smart Viewing, the service enables agents to turn existing property photos into a virtual tour of a property and is a collaboration with FocalAgent which removes the need to visit an address and film videos or 3D tours during the Coronavirus crisis.

While Smart Viewing virtual tours work best with 360-degree photography, FocalAgent can use existing images and floor plans to create virtual tours.

FocalAgent’s tech therefore allows agents to offer virtual ‘accompanied’ tours of properties without having to revisit it.

Under the current lockdown rules, agents are only allowed to undertake ‘essential travel’ which excludes viewings or preparing properties for marketing.

“We know that estate agencies are people businesses and we’ve created technology that allows for virtual online viewings to be controlled by the agent so the customer gets the best possible experience,” says Lee Wainright (pictured, above right) CEO of FocalAgent who was, until February 2019, the boss of Purplebricks UK.

Gary Barker (picture, top right) CEO of Reapit, says: “FocalAgent’s offer of free access to their Smart Viewing platform is sure to be a welcome pillar of support for estate agents whilst our industry is in lockdown.

“I’m so pleased with this collaboration, allowing us to deliver something of an essential service that could help agencies to continue functioning.”

“The collaboration ran at an incredible pace and the service is available as of now.”
