The prime suspect in the murder of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh has now served his minimum 35-years imprisonment for the murder of Shirley Banks.

Evidence linking him to the murder of Suzy Lamplugh will now be looked at again.

John Cannan, who is 68, was receiving end-of-life care at Full Sutton Prison in east Yorkshire.

DISAPPEARED

Suzy disappeared in 1986 after leaving the office to attend a property viewing in Fulham, west London with a ‘Mr Kipper’ and no one has been convicted of her murder.

Cannan has been serving a life sentence for the murder of a woman from Bristol in 1987, as well as the attempted abduction of another woman and the rape of a third woman.

DECISIONS

Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public. But victims of John Worboys, the Black Cab rapist, successfully challenged a decision to release him.

In 2002 police named Cannan as the man who killed Suzy after the Crown Prosecution Service ruled there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him.

DENIED

He has been interviewed about Suzy at least four times but has always denied involvement to the police.
