Leading industry figure Robert May (pictured, extreme left) has stepped in to be one of the dancers in this year’s Strictly Agents Dancing Charity Ball after David Mintz from Kerfuffle was forced to pull out of the Agents Giving event.

May, who describes himself as having the dancing style of a mountain gorilla, attended a casting session at dancing studio Wright Rhythm in Enfield over the weekend to ensure he had enough moves up his sleeve to be a contestant.

The Rummage4 founder says he only took up dancing recently as a present for his wife so that they had a joint enterprise to enjoy after she retired.

“I had to get up very early in order to do some work, drive from my home in Devon to London and then get back in time for my weekly dancing date with my wife in the evening,” he says.

Fund raising

May is also hoping to raise £3,000 for Agents Giving for its Ukraine fundraiser and is asking for any donations to be funnelled through this page.

He is also in good company with the nine other agency and supplier dancers taking part.

These include Kristjan Byfield of Base Property, Katy Poore and Manuela Daniels of Thomas Morris, Danielle Lanthier of Paramount Properties, Suzanna Mavity of Acaboom, Natasha Sugarman and John Young of Drivers & Norrish, Bernadette Sheridan of PayProp and Jason Kelly of X1.

“If everyone who I’ve given free advice to over the years, and who said they’d buy me a pint in return, were to chip in a £5 each then that would get me there to my fundraising goal,” adds Robert.

The evening event will take place on 15th July at Epsom Downs Race Course in Surrey.
