It’s time for the industry to be more mobile

Trevor Youens explains why changing habits in communication is having a significant impact on real estate technology.

Mobile phone imageSeventy seven per cent of millennials choose to text over talking on the phone. But it’s not just Gen Y that are glued to their devices: there is a clear shift in the way everyone communicates in day to day life.

When it comes to the modern workplace, communication is all about informality: video chat over face to face meetings, break out areas over the traditional boardroom.

And this is no different in the real estate industry; when we ask our sales and lettings customers what their biggest challenges are, changing user expectations is top of their list.

Estate agents are being challenged by a new wave of consumers that want to communicate on their own terms; rather than a traditional phone call, customers expect to speak to your business when they want, how they want, and on a device of their choice.

And your staff? Well, they expect to be able to respond accordingly, using intuitive software that has the same look and feel as the leading brands they’re used to, accessible anytime on every device.

SLOW TO CATCH-UP?

According to our recent industry wide survey, over 60 per cent of real estate people think that the industry has been slow to adapt to new technology. And shockingly, only 40 per cent felt that the mobile offering of their software was ‘good’.

This is unprecedented in a world where mobile has already overtaken desktop as main way to access the internet.

Here at Qube Global Software we are constantly looking to innovate in the property sector; that’s why we have redesigned our sales and lettings interface to address this shift in communication and usability – and give millennials (and everyone else!) an alternative to the traditional ways of working in property.

SOFTWARE YOU’LL LOVE TO USE

Qube SLM, our sales and lettings solution, now offers the same look and feel as leading consumer brands, creating a seamless user experience for both staff and customers.
