OTM makes its first steps into new home market after signing up Barratt

Deal will see properties from across builder's three brands and 26 divisions listed on OTM, although it is unlikely to generate much revenue for the portal this year.

OnTheMarket has pulled a major coup and signed not only its first house builder but the UK’s biggest, Barratt Developments.

The house building giant is to list many of the nearly 19,000 properties it builds every year on the portal via its three new homes brands David Wilson Homes, Barratt Homes and Barratt London all of which will also pay to use OTM’s additional advertising products.

“In the highly competitive property portals space we have watched OnTheMarket go from strength to strength with active backing from property professionals and with a website that showcases properties effectively,” says Jeremy Hipkiss, Group Sales and Marketing Director of Barratt Developments.

“We are pleased to be the first house builder to work with OnTheMarket to list developments from across our business and we look forward to working with the team to reach more customers.”

OTM says it has been focussing more recently on addressing the wider property market and that developers have been its first focus in achieving this aim.

“It’s another milestone moment as we continue to deliver our transformational growth strategy,” says OTM’s Commercial Director Helen Whiteley (left).

“Barratt Developments is highly successful, has wide geographic reach, creates a diverse range of properties and is committed to quality and customer service, being the only major housebuilder to retain the HBF’s maximum 5-Star customer rating for 10 consecutive years.

“The business has ambitious expansion plans and we look forward to working closely with the marketing team to help them achieve their objectives by introducing them to new active property-seekers who are interested in their properties.”
