Challenger portal OpenBrix is to go live in September following feedback from the property industry, offering agents and the public the UK’s first Multi-Listing Service (MLS) portal.
OpenBrix utilises blockchain to create a linked network of agents to upload listings, and enable agents to vote on key business decisions and take control of their own customer leads.
By creating a de-centralised network there is no single owner who controls the money, data or rules of the portal, it claims.
Following its ‘Beta’ launch in February, OpenBrix has now also revealed more details of the services it will offering agents.
This includes the ability to manage lettings portfolios via its platform, earn commission via rental partnership referrals as well as offering agents fully-branded listings.
But OpenBrix also now has a new competitor, Boomin. It’s the new industry platform from Purplebricks co-founder Michael Bruce, which is increasingly also looking like a portal.
Adam Pigott, CEO of OpenBrix (left), says: “The portal space is certainly hotting up and OpenBrix really welcomes the competition as it will create a dynamic whereby all entrants will have to improve their offering and that’s great for the agency industry and the consumer alike.
“We’re launching very soon and certainly have all of our ducks in a row. “When we go to market, we will be transparent and honest about our offering straight from the get-go. ‘Open’ is in our name because it’s also our ethos.”
