Business networking and fundraising charity Club Peloton’s charity cycle challenge for women in property, the Legal & General Real Assets pedElle 2017, has completed its fifth edition.
43 women from various industries, including architecture, planning, investment and property management, arrived into Lisbon on 20th May, having cycled 500km (300 miles) and climbed 7,800m from Porto in three days.
Cycling through Portugal, they conquered challenging climbs, long days in the saddle in 32 degree heat.
Along the way, they have forged new business relationships, made new friends, and raised £34,000 so far for charity. Two-thirds of the funds raised will go to the Coram Adoption programme, which finds safe and loving homes for some of the UK’s most vulnerable children, including those who have suffered from abuse and neglect since birth.
Celebrating five years of pedElle – 150 women in property taking part and 2,500km cycled – co-founder Claire Treanor of Treanor Consulting said, “This year’s event may have been the most demanding pedElle to date, and certainly one of the most scenic. We had an incredible group of women, who just kept going! It has been wonderful to see the event grow across professions, ages and levels of seniority. So many have said they achieved a challenge they wouldn’t have thought possible – it’s a massive credit to their commitment, enthusiasm and spirit.”
