Award-winning property community and pitching app Eighth Door has reached its funding target of £150,000 on the Seedrs platform.
The Eighth Door app, which was launched in May last year by businessman Andre Mansoori-Dara, aims to connect a wide range of professionals within the property sector including estate agents, developers, financiers, marketing consultants and architects, as well as moving more meetings online.
Given a boost during Covid when more people within the sector moved to virtual rather than face-to-face meetings, it has so far raised £152,000 to fund its development.
This includes £110,00 from an anonymous investor with a further 89 investors pitching in with between £50 and £1,000.
The app, which is available on both the iTunes and Google Play smartphone platforms, describes itself as a ‘dating platform for the real estate ecosystem’.
It has 2,500 users already using the site, which at the moment is free to use but will charge £9 a month once it hits 10,000, although at launch it originally planned to charge £25.
“The app integrates with existing social networks and therefore exposes users to their global reach, whilst offering key features relevant to the property industry, such as filters, ranks, prospecting and deal tracking,” says Mansoori-Dara (pictured), who also runs Mayfair-based property investment and acquisitions firm AMD Property Consulting.
“Users can stay up to date with demand for their services, opportunities or requirements through their dashboard and can easily target interested parties to discuss, share and conduct business.
“The fast-paced world of property and technology, is now available at our fingertips.”
