Rightmove launches TV ad aimed at solving stock drought

Portal says its new 60-second TV on Channel 4 featuring a homeless scarecrow is designed to prompt consumers to move home and not do it 'one day'.

Rightmove is to launch a new advertising push on 19th April specifically designed to prompt more people to move home and help agents mitigate the current stock drought.

Called ‘one day could be today’ it uses a new TV ad featuring a scarecrow who, rather than seeking a brain Wizard of Oz style, wants to be freed from scaring off crows to buy a property in her local town.

The thrust of the quirky ad is to encourage people to consider the different life they could have if they made the move they’ve always dreamt about.

Rightmove’s campaign will launch with a new advert on Channel 4 on Tuesday 19th April, which will appear in key programming throughout the month.

The campaign will also be supported by a dedicated landing page on the Rightmove website, providing consumers with practical help in making their one day move.

It will include inspiring moving stories, links to contact an estate agent and book a valuation, and tips for getting ready to sell a home.

“Estate Agents continue to be faced with record low levels of available stock this year, so we wanted to help them by encouraging people across Great Britain to think about what their ‘one day’ might look like, and to get started now,” says Sarah Brown, Rightmove’s Head of Brand.

“This ad is about celebrating and understanding the importance of taking action and making ‘one day’ you’ve dreamed about for so long, today.”
