Streets Ahead goes hyperlocal

The Croydon Citizen imageA Croydon community magazine championed by local café-culture professionals, has won its first estate agency advertising deal with Streets Ahead, which has booked a three month full-page advertising campaign.

Streets Ahead were impressed when the hyperlocal online and print magazine, with a remit to publish ‘quality local journalism,’ notched up 30,000 registered readers in two years.

“We are very pleased to have got on Street’s Ahead’s radar,” said Croydon Citizen General Manager Tom Black. “They are a top local estate agent – Croydon born and bred – which is very much in keeping with the local focus of our publication.”

As local newspapers struggle, Tom Black believes the Croydon Citizen has succeeded because of its pledge to deliver quality journalism with a strong community focus.”

“We are delighted to be the first estate agent, not only to advertise, but to contribute to the Croydon Citizen, with our experience – we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary,” said Streets Ahead Director Gary O’Hare.

Gary’s decision to advertise with the Citizen follows a survey by Ovum, who forecast that, far from disappearing in a digital media landscape, print will still account for 75 per cent of publishing revenues in 2020.
