A Sales Manager is stepping out of his comfort zone and into the boxing ring to raise money for charity.
Grant Bates, Sales Manager at Hamptons International, Islington, is one of 18 amateurs who have undergone an intensive three-month training programme to compete in a fundraising boxing match.
Each of the amateur boxers will be going head-to-head to raise money for a charity of their choice. Grant is fighting to raise money for research charity Ovarian Cancer Action (OCA), and has collected over £2,500 in donations so far.
“My training programme involves a 6am start and sprint up Primrose Hill each morning, plus ten training sessions a week.
“It’s tough! But most of the time I love it and it’s all for a good cause. OCA is a brilliant charity which works tirelessly to encourage awareness and early detection of a disease that has already taken so many lives.”
OCA’s Chief Executive, Katherine Taylor said, “We’re thrilled to be Grant’s chosen charity. Ovarian cancer is deadly disease that doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves. The money he raises will go towards truly vital research.”
