The Greenaway Residential Foundation won an award at the Crawley Community Awards, organised by Crawley Borough Council in association with the Crawley Observer and the Hawth Theatre. The awards recognise people in the district who give time, talents and skills to support others in their community.
The charity side of Greenaway Residential Estate Agents has, for seven years been helping local financially challenged families with help throughout the year including Christmas.
At Christmas families are nominated by local schools and the Foundation provides all the ingredients they need for a family Christmas dinner. Children from these families can also come in to Greenaway and make a wish for a present, which the Foundation will then provide by getting members of the public to buy, sponsor or donate.
During Christmas, the Foundation provided meals for 247 families and made 302 children’s wishes come true.
There were over 300 nominations for the charity category and team. Managing Director Darren Greenaway thanked the local community and the team who got behind the Foundation’s mission of ‘do good in the world, until there is enough good in the world’.
