Two major regional estate agencies have moved into new head offices, underlining continuing confidence within the sector in the traditional estate agency model.

This includes leading Kent estate agency Miles & Barr which as launched its new 8,500 sq ft head office in Herne Bay, and Leeds agency Adair Paxton, which has moved into its new 3,000 sq ft facility in Leeds.

The new Miles & Barr HQ will house 70 members of staff out of the firm’s 250 headcount, which CEO Mark Brooks (pictured) recently told The Neg was part of a plan to expand by making admin tasks more centralised rather than based in any new branches.

“The new Head Office encapsulates a working environment that engages employees, whilst also providing areas to disconnect and rejuvenate. It is a product of the dedication and outstanding business results seen across the company.

“As we plan for the future of the company, the move to a new more expansive HQ was imperative as we are actively looking to open new branches outside our current geographical operating area.”

The new facility is the central hub for the property group’s sales, lettings and financial services, as well as its Commercial and Land & New Homes divisions.

The agency, which has a history going back to 1859, is planning to grow more in the coming months and years and in expectation of this it recently appointed a new director of operations and finance, an office manager, an assistant property manager in our block management division.

It is also recruiting for a residential property manager to join its lettings team, and an accounts administrator.
