Winkworth has expanded its presence in Reading, with the acquisition of local lettings agency AMPM, adding a portfolio of more than 80 landlords to its lettings business.
The new portfolio includes a mix of flats and houses, that are all within a five mile radius of the Winkworth office in the town centre.
Director Michael Foldvari, who runs the Winkworth franchise in Reading with fellow directors James Hathaway and Jon Hallett, said, “The acquisition of AMPM, a longstanding agency in the area, will add a major portfolio to our already substantial lettings business.”
James Hathaway commented, “This expansion reinforces Winkworth’s leading position in the lettings market in Reading. Angela Cox, owner of AMPM, will continue to work with us as a consultant.”
“Our new investor clients will benefit from the service Winkworth offers, with access to sales expertise, mortgages, excellent back office support and training, the latest knowledge on proptech and regulations and a superb, expanding network of offices throughout the UK and, most importantly, from within the M25, where we are one of the largest agencies in London, ” added Jon Hallett.
Dominic Agace, Winkworth’s CEO, added, “This latest expansion by our Reading franchise reflects our growth plans in the Home Counties. There is an increasing demand from people in London to move to the Reading area to rent or buy and our offices in the capital are able to provide the connection. We are also keen to talk to independent agents or those looking to launch their own businesses in the wider Home Counties region.”
