Estate agents regularly make it onto TV including Channel 4’s two series Stath Lets and The Estate Agents or the BBC’s Under Offer: Estate Agents On The Job.
But now there is going to be a blockbuster film with an estate agent as its central character.
An Anglo-Spanish film company called Golden Mile Productions has told The Negotiator that it’s preparing to film a version of former estate agent David P Perlmutter’s international best seller Wrong Place, Wrong Time.
It recounts the adventures of an estate agent in the UK and Spain. The story started out as a successful blog by Perlmutter (left) based on a real-life experience of his which he later turned into a book.
It was first published in 2013 and became a bestseller on Amazon in the US and beyond.
The book tells the story of a prime central London estate agent who is convicted of drink driving and loses his job and home and heads to Spain where more bad luck and poor decisions land him in even hotter water.
The production company’s UK producer on the project John Santos says its casting director is currently approaching actors, and that filming is to commence in early 2020.
Herefordshire-based Perlmutter has subsequently written five more books including a children’s book as well as several other gritty crime novels similar to Wrong Place, Wrong Time.
