‘Haunted’ chapel avoids a ruff time

Pet lovers were not too spooked to bid on a dilapidated 17th century Gwent chapel in the latest sale held by Paul Fosh Auctions.
Despite the tales that it is haunted by a blood thirsty black hound and that it’s next to a fully occupied graveyard, it successfully sold for £53,000 after 14 bids from three bidders – £10,000 above guide.
The single-storey detached stone-built chapel was once a centre for Welsh Non- Conformists and sits among modern homes in Waun Road, in the St Dials area of Cwmbran.
Debra Bisley, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “We look forward to seeing what the new owner of this unique building does with it. I know the building holds a lot of importance for some of the local residents.”
The next Paul Fosh Auction will begin on Tuesday 12th April 2022.
