Third of tenants not rent-ready according to leading app
Despite high levels of competition for rental properties, research by tenant app Tlyfe found one-third of renters are not ready to make an immediate move.

A third of renters are unable to make a move straight away according to research by tenant app Tlyfe.
The research also found:
• When searching for a property 89% of tenants knew exactly where they wanted to live and 91% had a clear idea of how much they could afford.
• Although 90% were prepared to commit to a longer tenancy in order to secure a rental property, as many as 34% stated they weren’t ready to make their move right away.
• A further 32% didn’t have a rental deposit saved and as many as 45% had no references on hand from a previous landlord or letting agent.
Severe disadvantage
Tlyfe says that the inability to act immediately is putting tenants at a severe disadvantage in their search for rental properties.
Another of its surveys lays bare the issue, with 98% of lettings agents saying it was important to be ‘rent ready’ including all deposits and paperwork. And 91% said that, in doing so, you are more likely to be prioritised when applying for a property.
Tlyfe is a tenant app that helps tenants manage their deposit and renting experience.
