Property firm Cavendish has announced the purchase of a lettings portfolio formerly operated by Keystone Property & Mortgage Centre, based in Connah’s Quay.

This marks the first acquisition in Wales for Cavendish, which has offices in Chester, Ruthin and Mold, and a key step in its growth strategy across the region.

Cavendish will take on the full lettings arm of Keystone, allowing the agency and mortgage brokerage to focus on the expansion of its core sales and finance services across North Wales, Chester and the Wirral.

David Adams, Managing Director of Cavendish (main image, left) says: “From our early discussions, it was clear that the values and ethos of our two businesses were very closely aligned. We look forward to welcoming Keystone’s landlord clients into the Cavendish family and building on the high level of customer service they have come to expect from the Keystone team.”

Careful negotiation

The agreement follows six months of careful negotiation and relationship-building between the two companies.

Ben Roberts, Managing Director of Keystone, said: “This has been a carefully considered decision, one that has been six months in the making. During that time, we received interest and offers from a number of companies – some even offering more than we ultimately accepted.

“However, our focus was never solely financial. Our priority has always been our landlord clients and ensuring continuity of care, service, and trust.

“After a series of highly productive meetings and discussions, we were delighted to agree a deal with Cavendish, a company that shares our values and approach to customer service. Their team brings a wealth of experience and a strong reputation for professionalism and integrity.”

The sale also allows Glenys Roberts, Ben’s mother and long-time head of Keystone’s lettings operation, to step into a well-earned retirement after many successful years supporting local landlords and tenants.
