Growing independent estate agency snaps up historic competitor
Yorkshire and Derbyshire firm Redbrik has bought 154-year-old firm Bothams and welcomed its director Andrew Terry onto the board.

A growing independent estate agency established in 2013 operating in Yorkshire and Derbyshire has acquired a 154-year-old competitor.
Redbrik, which has branches in Chesterfield, Sheffield and Crystal Peaks, has welcomed Bothams into the fold including owner Andrew Terry who joins its board. His team of ten colleagues are also being retained and have been ‘TUPE’d’ over to Rebrik.
Chesterfield-based Bothams is an historic firm established in 1871 making it one of the oldest property companies in the town operating in both the commercial and residential sales and lettings markets. It is also has a well-known arm of chartered surveyors.
And Bothams has an unusual claims fame as one of the first estate agents I the UK to list its properties for sale on the internet.
All Bothams’ staff are being transferred from their offices on the outskirts of Chesterfield to Rebrik’s premises in the town centre.
Terry adds: “Joining Redbrik gives our clients the best of both worlds: continuity for our commercial customers under the Bothams name, and access to Redbrik’s broader platform, technology and marketing reach.
“It’s a compelling opportunity to raise the bar across sales, lettings and commercial.”
Terry is lead the commercial operation, which will continue to trade under the Bothams name.
