The hunt for a new leader at Martin & Co and Ewemove parent corporate The Property Franchise Group is over after the company announced this morning that one of Your Move’s former senior team, Gareth Samples, is to join the company as CEO designate.

This is in preparation for the departure of Ian Wilson, who has said previously that he intends to retire later this year, and to enable an ‘orderly handover’.

Samples is an industry veteran but, unlike many other corporate CEOs, has spent time in more digital areas of the industry after leaving Your Move after 21 years where he was its Managing Director until 2012.

In that role he was responsible for Your Move’s franchise operation as well as having overall control of its Financial Services arm, Lettings and the strategy of the brand.

Since then his experience has included spells leading marketing platform BriefYourMarket as well as working for an asset management company.

He is also the non-exec chairman at Legal4Landlords.com and is a key member of the industry charity AgentsGiving.

“I am thrilled to be joining The Property Franchise Group,” he says.

“The business is at a very exciting stage in its growth strategy with the recent launch of its financial services division alongside a huge opportunity to grow and improve its franchise footprint.

“I am really looking forward to working with Ian and his team ahead of my formal appointment and I am determined to build further upon the incredible work carried out by Ian and the team.”
