Online agency signs up 50 agents but is not yet ‘the finished product’

UK ExP founder Adam Day says the US-style virtual estate agency is on track and is attracting agents from around the UK. It currently lists 146 properties on Zoopla.

The boss of fledgling estate agency network eXp Realty UK says 50 agents are now on its platform, up from 33 in November when the company had its launch party.

Its UK boss Adam Day says the network’s growth is on track for its third month of trading and that agents are signing up all over the UK including in Northern Ireland, Scotland, North of England, North West, North East, Wales, Midlands, South coast, London and as far South East as Margate.

The company also has the backing of two significant industry figures. These are Mark Bentley, a former President of NAEA Propertymark, who is working as a consultant to the business, and Ian Dobrin who for many years headed up Connells’ recruitment operation.

The two met after Connells ill-fated decision to buy Hatched, the online agency that Day founded.

eXP has taken the decision in the UK to only welcome experienced estate agents and, unlike many of his online such as Ewemove, not admit rookies.

“The majority of our agents are from a corporate or independent backgrounds so as you can see, we’re not just another online estate agency,” says Day.

“We’re by no means the finished product, but that’s what’s exciting about it. It’s new, it’s exciting, agents joining feel like they’re part of something”.

eXp Realty UK lists on Rightmove and has 146 listings on Zoopla. Day says he encourages agents who join to invest heavily in social media and become local stars and, therefore, source instructions that way.

Some are already doing this. As The Negotiator reported recently, Ian Moore of Esme Properties is busy cultivating a Youtube following with his ‘car karoake’ style videos.
