A national fund to help support agents and their families who have been affected by devastation caused by storm Ciarán in recent days has been launched by Propertymark.

Estimated to have caused millions of pounds of flooding and wind damage last week particularly in Southern England, it cut power to a millions homes in the South and SW of England and killed five people in Europe.

ARLA Propertymark Vice President Megan Eighteen (main picture) says many businesses including estate agents have reported difficulties after winds of up to 125mph swept across many parts of the UK.

In a statement posted on TikTok Eighteen, who is also a Trustee of the Propertymark Trust, says agents have reported branches flooded, agents washed out of their homes and people living in “exceptionally difficult conditions”.

“We wanted to let agents know that the Propertymark Trust is offering grants of up to £1,000 for those in need,” she added.

Anyone who would like to apply for a grant can do so via this link.
