LAUNCH: Energy switching services solves void headaches for agents
Scottish Power and Vouch have joined forces to enable agents to keep energy suppliers accounts for up to 45 days while tenants are found.

Referencing service Vouch has launched an online service that enables letting agents to switch a property’s energy provider during voids.
Called Vouch Voids, the service is also an opportunity for agents and landlords to earn additional revenue from this provider switching activity.
It’s unusual because Scottish Power, which is the energy provider involves, will hold each energy account open for up to 45 days while new tenants are found. This means tenants can move into a property with their energy provider already set up and ready to go – although they need to do is pick the tariff.
Vouch also says it chose Scottish Power because it’s a ‘safe and stable’ provider, a reference to the ongoing and huge volatility in the energy provider market as rocketing gas prices have forced many smaller companies to close down.
The new service also saves agents time – the tech sends automated meter readings to utility companies to ensure accurate billing and agents can manage all of their properties from a single platform.
Occupancy change
The Vouch Voids service will also be able to notify council tax & water authorities of any changes in occupancy.
Jaime Tillyer (main pic), Director of Vouch, comments: “Following numerous conversations with our clients, it became apparent that the voids offerings available through our partners were just not in line with how the agents or the Vouch platform works.
“Agents reported frustrations around always speaking to a middleman, so the solution as we saw it was to do what we do best and build a platform from the agents’ point of view.
“We invite anybody who would like to learn more about Vouch Voids to attend our webinar at 11.30am today.”
